Course Description

Parents,

Ever wish you could know more about what’s happening in the 4th Grade classroom? Maybe not but if you are interested, I will be using Google Classroom this school year. It’s accessible from any computer with internet access.

In Google Classroom, I can assign work to the students digitally, without paper. They can submit it to me online, and I can pass it back to them with comments, edits, suggestions, and/or grades.

As a parent, you can log in and see what assignments have been sent to your child, whether your child has completed them, and how they did. Not everything we do will be in written form- a lot of learning involves hearing it in songs/ videos and practicing in game form.

I can also put up reminders for the students of upcoming events/ projects. And you could see those too!

I am already amazed at how it really lets each child work at his/ her own pace so much more than trying to have everyone in the class doing roughly the same thing at the same time. I can make extra “bonus” assignments for those who need a bit more stimulation, and I can simplify other assignments to try to meet the needs of each child- without the frustration of either not being able to keep up/ or being bored and waiting for the others to catch up, and without anyone else in the room necessarily knowing that adjustments have been made. It also allows for a lot more feedback, and for me to know a lot more about exactly what each child accomplished each day (and for you to know exactly what your child accomplished too).

Please sign up as soon as possible to our Google classroom. I have also included an awesome links to an introduction for google classroom for students to use. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
