Principal's Corner (June 2022) - Summer Edition

Dear Parents,

Summer fun has begun, and many families are already enjoying themselves.  We hope that everyone has a restful and fun summer, and we can’t wait to hear what everyone did over summer break.   As you are enjoying your summer, our staff is preparing for the next school year.  We would like to send this summer newsletter to let you know of some important information that you may be wondering about, especially if you are new to NWEC.

Our school goal for next school year is to “get back to basics” and setting “high expectations.”  The pandemic threw everyone off, and so we decided to get back to things that worked before and made us an A school!   Parents we ask for you to have the same focus and work on the basics of getting kids to arrive on time and every day.  Also, encourage the students by participating in any additional intersession schools and after school tutoring.  With your help we can get the students back to the level they should be at.

In this envelope, you will find the 2022-2023 school calendar at-a-glance for your future planning.   The first day of school is Monday, August 1, 2022, and we will have Curriculum Night on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 5pm to 6pm.  This is a great night to understand what is being taught in the classroom and to meet the teacher.  There will be important information and forms given on that day.   Uniforms will also be available for sale that day, although you may also go the week of August 1.  A school supply list is included in this mail-out for you to start looking for those items as well.

During the summer the office will be open Monday – Thursday from 9:00am to 2:00pm.  On July 4th through July 8th the school will be closed.  If you need to reach our office outside of those hours, please email us at [email protected] or you can call 602-238-9577 and leave a voicemail for us to call you back.  If you have moved or plan on moving, please make sure to let the office know.  Our School Website, Class Dojo, and other Social Medias (Facebook and Instagram) is also a good way of knowing what is going on at school so please make sure you check them.  Please contact us with any questions you may have, and we’ll see you soon!

Sincerely,

Jesus Armenta
